Pioneer TS G1644R Full Range Speakers

I replaced 10 year old factory speakers in my 2003 Nissan Altima doors with a pair of these Pioneer 1664R's. First I had them in there a week with the factory head unit. It took me 30 minutes to install both of them and I had not worked on a car speaker install in 30 years.
Nothing to it. I noticed an immediate gain in quality of sound, clarity and volume with the factory head unit. I would recommend them just for that.
The next week I installed a Kenwood DNX1690HD DVD Nav system and these speakers had no problems cranking out 50 watts per channel. With the added volume the clarity of the highs and mids was excellent, much better than with the factory head unit. The Kenwood has adjustable cross-overs and you can get quite a range out of these speakers. Great mid-tones and highs that I can't even hear at my age. The aftermarket head unit made these speakers sound as good as the Polk Audio Db651's and Alpine Type S speakers I listened to....at a fraction of the price. Low price doesn't mean low quality with these Pioneer speakers. Buy them and you will like them. I listen mostly to classic rock, metal, Zappa, Tool, Metallica type stuff. Let me tell you, these Pioneer speakers are holding their own against 1250 watts to 2 Cerwin Vega 12's in the trunk and a pair of Alpine SPS-619's in the rear deck. Can't beat that for the price.

Rockford Fosgate T165 6 5 Inch Full Range

I just installed these speakers into the fairing of my 2012 Harley Davidson Street Glide. I used this in combination with the Rockford 300 watt amp. Rockford Fosgate PBR300X4 Punch BRT 300 Watt Ultra Compact 4 Channel Amplifier. I'll write the review for the amp in another write up. These apeakers are apparently very new and are replacing an outgoing full range model of speakers. I agree with the other reviewer that the amp can easily overpower these speakers in the harley application. I turned the gain on the amp for my setup a bit lower than the halfway mark. These speakers are a night and day difference compared to what was on the bike before. They are pretty clear and provide good range. The bass is a bit lacking for a 6.5" speaker when compared to other 6.5s that I've tried. I have experience with Diamond Audio, MB Quartz, Focal, Image Dynamics and what not in more of a component setting. These speakers give better range and bass but they also cost more and have dedicated crossovers.

The package includes the speakers, two grills, and some basic screws. It would have been nice if they included some speaker wire and connectors. Also included appears to be a mounting plate or adapter to modify a 6x9 opening to fix these speakers.

I'm giving 5 stars because for the price and function in my application (fairings of street glide) they work great. I can ride down the freeway and hear the music very clearly whereas before I was getting distortion and losing the details of certain sounds. Another tip for other SG owners is to get a good windshield and lower fairing vents or wings. This helps to direct air around you, give less turbulence and noise and allow you to enjoy your tunes. I had never heard of this brand myself. It has great picture and sound for a product priced for the budget minded. The built in Bluetooth is a nice bonus. I stream Pandora via Bluetooth and make calls flawlessly. You do have to speak up a little as the mic is in the face of the unit. But I haven't had any complaints that people couldn't hear me.. (Except for my Dad that is getting fit for hearing aides currently) Touchscreen is responsive. My only real complaint, which isn't even a bother to me, is when you go into your phone book in the touchscreen it is not in any order. I have my galaxy s2 on a bracketron mount directly under the unit with driving mode on I touch the screen and say the name I want to talk to and am connected all while pausing the music.

I plan on getting a second for my wife's car

After reading the reviews here and elsewhere, I noticed some good formulated medium rated comments. I live in Guatemala, so buying these speakers on line was a silly choice due to shipping. So I bought them locally. More so, now that I think about it, if you're searching for any kind of speakers the best way to go is to go to an actual store and listen to them. When you choose the ones you like the best, then purchase them wherever and however you prefer. But go listen first!!

I've used JBL speakers, but the pro audio models before (JRX series) and I have always enjoyed the sound of them, even when they were assembled in Mexico. The eons active speakers sound amazing as well. So when I saved enough to buy myself a pair of floorstanding speakers my first choice was JBL.

I also gave Infinity, yamaha, and sony a listen. To tell you the truth, I did not have much to choose from here in Guatemala of floorstanding home speakers.

I decided to buy them with the yamaha rs-700 STEREO amplifier. NOTE: my only interest in home systems is music. Not movies. So the amp that I bought is stereo. No 5.1 or 7.whatever piece of equipment. PLUS: I love vinyl records, so my review here is based on spinning those black circles.

This last paragraph is important. If you buy or try these and use them with a home theater amp and don't have the entire home theater speakers then you're not using them correctly, thus your comments are a bit unfair and not trustworthy. Even if its a positive review.

These speakers (and the rs-700 amp) are bi-wiring compatible. Usually, if you're buying these for home theater and you amp is for home theater, then you will probably not be using this feature. And this is a huge difference. I must add that this is a topic of discussion, but I tried both ways and Bi-wired sounded much different (wiht music). The advantage of bi-wiring is that you separate the high frequency drivers and the low frequency drivers (woofers) from the source signal (amplifier), plus the internal crossover separates the mid frequencies from both. Big picture: I am using 4 speaker cables to connect 1 amp to 2 speaker cabinets. Google bi-wiring to understand better.

Most of the complaints are due to the excess of midrange and lack of bass. This might be caused by the amp you're using. Not only the speakers fault. You have to try for yourself and go to an actual store and compare. Take a cd that you know and care enough to judge between each combination (amp-speakers) the seller lets you. IMPORTANT: i'll explain this with an example......

One record: The Jimi Hendrix Experience first album, "Are You Experienced". Most are familiar with "Fire". This piece is mixed in a way that Redding's bass is all over the track. The guitars are wonderfully all over your face, every audible note very well defined. Plus Mitchell's bass drum soars with such power as his fiercing snare and cymbal attack. The floor shakes with this track. Same album, different track "Love or Confusion". Sounds amazing still. But not close to "Fire" and the description I made. I can barely sense the bass lines as the guitars and vocals all over this track. This is just the way it was mixed. Every song is mixed differently, and every record is also mixed differently. Add the fact that most listen to cd's or mp3's that are overly compressed then you have a variety of listening and appreciating possibilities.

I for one am very pleased with the reproduction of my records on this combo. And to tell you the truth, my turntable is a cheap audiotechnica model. Can't wait to upgrade.

Do yourself a favor and go to a store and compare. You will find better speakers, but it comes with a price. As you will find better amps. For this price, this will be among the best choices you can make.

These are clear sounding, with more than adequate bass. I'm listening to Elton John and it sounds like the piano is in the living room, the sounds are so clear and true. I'm using Yamaha separates (amp, pre-amp and cd player) to power these speakers and the sound will rival any high priced set up. I can't recommend these speakers enough. If you want great sound, buy these speakers, it doesn't get much better than these.

Infinity 6829CF Inch 2 Way Speakers

I bought these (two pairs- front/rear doors) for my 2009 Mazda 6S touring, the stock speakers were absolutely junk, cheap cardboard cone and NO mid range/bass. I connected the speakers to the aftermarket DVD/GPS HU. Powered by the HU, the Infinity have great sound on the low, mid range, high ends, and much more clarity than the other brand (Pioneer/Polk)(returned). Some people don't really like the dongle connection box, but for me it has not problem with little extra work, and it took me about one and half hours for four speakers installed. With the correct adjustment on the HU, it sounds wonderful and can play loud with low distortion. I definitely would buy these again. I am very impressed with how these speakers sound and even more it sounds so good without adding an amp.

this amp was reccommended to me for an add on amp to a gl8000 motorcycle.
It is a small amp and fits nicely into the trunk well of the 1800. where the cd player goes)
However this animal gets HOT... I mean REALLY hot, I mean like too hot to pick up with bare hands. I'll assume that this is baause of the way it handles it power. Putting it in the typical area for an 1800 will cause problems for it down the line. The solution I found was to add auxillary heat sinks to the unit via the mounting holes on the side and some well placed heat sink compound. Furthermore I added aux fans to the area where the amp was installed. this seemed to make all of the difference (heat wise) in the world.

The sound is outstanding however the STOCK 1800 speakers will NOT be able to handle it, you MUST upgrade your speakers (I used Polk db501's) and sealed the mounting chambers. after you do this, then its no problem.
Fosgate says you must 10 guage wire ofr the power and ground, and I hartilly agree, however the usage of a 30 amp fuse was a bit large and I lowered it to 15 whit no apparent issues.

Two speakers that you velcro to the side of your helmet, and a transmitter/receiver module for charging and communicating with your phone through Bluetooth. There's an on/off/play/pause button on the top of one speaker, two volume control buttons on the top of the other. That's it. I normally like at least an LED to tell me what's going on. All this has is a single LED.

After riding with this thing for several months on my commute to work I really appreciate it's simplicity. If you're riding, you don't want a lot of things to deal with. Pausing and turning up and down the volume is about the limit of my attention I'm willing to give my music or Podcasts while riding.

Because they're open-air, you still hear everything going on around you very well. If the audio is distracting it's very easy to pause and restart. These speakers are akin to having a radio in your car. Connectivity with my iPhone 5 has been flawless.

Just what I needed at a wonderful price!

612UA MP3 Compatible Digital Media Receiver

I just installed this stereo in my Nissan Sentra 03. This stereo works superb! Radio, Aux and SD cards works fine. USB doesn't take input, but charges my iPhone, but I'm okay with that. In fact, SD card thingy even remembers to start from where you last left (I've read many reviews where this feature doesn't work in other cheap stereos). I haven't created folders in my SD card so I don't know about folder navigation. The stereo has no off button as far as I could see, but I don't care, I Just turn the volume to 0.

So the stereo feels excellent for a reasonable price.

(Those who are interested to know something about the installation which doesnt necessarily concern the stereo performance but which you should know - esp if u have a Sentra! I had trouble finding help on youtube with this ;)). The stereo box doesnt have screwing holes (Sentra factory radio panels had brackets which screw onto the radio set which had these holes. The guy at the electronics shop told me all other "standard" shop stereos have them, but I don't know about that.

So I had to jam this new stereo somehow. If I pull really hard, the stereo will come out of it's slot!. Also, I'd bought a sentra stereo panel from amazon, and I had to "expand" the installation panel's slot a bit (using hacksaw and pliers) so the stereo could go in.

Also the inputs to the stereo and the car stereo wires are not directly adaptable. Meaning you can't just plug the car wires and the stereo wires and play. You've to buy adapter ($5) for your particular car, which has color coded wires. This adapter will join to your car's wires which feed the speakers. Then you cut off the adapter plug that comes with this stereo, expose the stereo's wires, and join them to the adapters' wires. This process is fairly easy if u have the wire cutter pliers, the adapter, and the butt connectors.

To do all of this you'll need-
Philips screw driver ($14)
Torx star-shaped screw driver (esp if u have a sentra, I don't know about other cars) ($12)
Wire cutters ($10)
Pliers ($9)
Butt connectors ($4)
Hacksaw (depending on your whether your car's installation kit panel needs trimming)

It took me 4 hrs to do all of this. I din't mind doing it, and I also saved around $85-ish which otherwise would've gone towards the installation charges.
If you think you're interested in installing yourself, go for it! Else go to your auto shop to get it fixed. Your choice. Hope this helps

Kicker 11ds40 Coaxil Speaker Compl

I was torn between getting the 3-way Rockford Fosgate R1693 6x9's and the 2-way Boston Acoustics SC95 6x9's. I did a ton of Research including contacting Crutchfield. All information I received indicated to me that the Boston Acoustics would sound more accurate and crisper. I have always been partial to 6x9 3-ways since the days Jensen 6x9 Triaxials came out.

Anyway I decided to take a chance and listen to what others who know more about speakers are telling me so I purchased the Boston Acoustic speakers.

I installed them earlier today. I just got home from a night out and on the way home I could not believe how good they sound. Just like I was told....they are crisp and very accurate. I had a 30 minute drive home and I wish it would have been longer. I did not feel like the highs were a combination of all these noises into one....I could tell the difference between the sss sounds from voices and the clashes of the cymbols. The bass was very very tight sounding and real.

I am glad that I listened to the advise of friends and professionals for this purchase. My ears were not fatigued like I experience when listening to something that does not sound right.

I purchased 2 packages of speaker harnesses from Best Buy. Part number "72-6514 Chrysler/Dodge Speaker Harness" $15/package.....one package for two speakers so I got two packages....$32 TOTAL including tax. I cut spade terminal ends off because they are too small for the Boston Acoustic terminals. I then soldered the wire ends to the pos and neg terminals on the speakers with a 15w IRON...in and out real fast with the soldering. The other end snaps into the wire connector coming from the door.

I could not be happier with these speakers and the price was EXCELLENT here on Amazon !

Boston Acoustics Series Coaxial Speaker

I was torn between getting the 3-way Rockford Fosgate R1693 6x9's and the 2-way Boston Acoustics SC95 6x9's. I did a ton of Research including contacting Crutchfield. I did not feel like the highs were a combination of all these noises into one....I could tell the difference between the sss sounds from voices and the clashes of the cymbols. The bass was very very tight sounding and real.

I am glad that I listened to the advise of friends and professionals for this purchase. My ears were not fatigued like I experience when listening to something that does not sound right.

I purchased 2 packages of speaker harnesses from Best Buy. Part number "72-6514 Chrysler/Dodge Speaker Harness" $15/package.....one package for two speakers so I got two packages....$32 TOTAL including tax. I cut spade terminal ends off because they are too small for the Boston Acoustic terminals. I then soldered the wire ends to the pos and neg terminals on the speakers with a 15w IRON...in and out real fast with the soldering. The other end snaps into the wire connector coming from the door.

I could not be happier with these speakers and the price was EXCELLENT here on Amazon !

This is really one of the best gadgets I've ever bought. It does exactly what I need, perfectly, all the time, and nothing else.

I had the whole thing set up in about two minutes in my BMW 335i. A short audio cable is provided, but you'll need to supply your own USB power cable. In my BMW, the switched 12V power and aux jack are in the armrest, so I just plug everything in and it stays hidden away. When the car is turned on, the stereo gateway comes on and my 9700 pairs with it and with the car's bluetooth hands free at the same time. I start up Pandora and have high-quality streaming tunes even though my phone is in my left pocket. If a call comes in, or if I place a call, the audio is pause on my phone and the car switches to the handsfree automatically. When I hang up, the phone and car switch straight back to the music. It's perfectly integrated as if the car and phone were made for each other and the stereo gateway didn't even exist.

I've been an audio equipment enthusiast for 20+ years. Grew up with an electrical engineer dad, spent a lot of time inside radio stations and recording studios, and professionally installed home/car audio for some years in early adulthood. Yes, I've played with a lot of toys.

I wasn't really a believer in digital amplifiers, and have always appreciated the classic AB design for its warmth and musicality. No digital processing - only direct bypass, from music source-to-amplifier-to-you. After seeing a lot of buzz around class T amplifier, I had to see what it was all about, and got myself the Lepai to check it out. I was thoroughly surprised, not only at how much sound was coming out of a modestly priced and sized unit, but also a tone that wasn't surprisingly.. digital, but rather transparent and clean. One downer - the Lepai was cheap. It felt cheap, and after a certain volume, it sounded cheap and distorted. And there was a pop when I turned off the LePai. But I knew there was a lot of potential in class T amps, researched and debated between Dayton Audio and Topping.

I am SO GLAD I bought the Topping. The build is solid, classic and simple. If you're a music purist, you'd know that you don't need much more than a power button and volume control. And it's everything I liked about the Lepai + quality + better sound. No pop, no hiss, not even a little bit and runs cool. I tested it with several bookshelf speakers - Infinity, KEF, Boston, and currently have them paired with Definitive. Love it. Very clean sound. And more than enough volume for a 20x10 room.

Please note this is not the amp if you're trying to throw parties. And for the not so great reviews, I wonder if they realized that speaker pairing matters, as well as the audio source. This amp with bright speakers, can get a bit too bright. And you do get a little more from efficient speakers with this amp. Overall - this is an absolute steal. You can't even get a decent used amp off craigslist or ebay for this price (maybe, if you're lucky). This plus a decent pair of bookshelf speakers is still a better deal than any 2.1 or amplified (computer) speakers in the same price range. Amplified studio monitors run at least $400/pair. Best of all, the compact design gives it so much versatility without taking all that room that AB amps needed. These have replaced my main setup in the living room. And I plan to get more for music streaming to my Apple Airport express (used as repeater).

One wish: optical input and DAC. Bottom line: still worth it. Get it!!

I have owned many 5 channel amplifiers including rockford, kicker, soundstream, ppi and I have previously owned hifonics .This is the only 5 channel amp I found of recent that the sub channel is 1 ohm stable besides the rockford power 1000 25 to life which I also have which cost about 3x as much brand new.im not saying this amp is in the same class as my rockford but I am really surprised at how loud and clear this amplifier is. I am powering a pair of 8 inch lanzar coaxials in my front doors, a pair of lanzar coaxial 6.5 rear door speakers and a mtx 9500 12 inch sub in the trunk and this amp powers everything great with excellent sound quality and super low bass, also no loud hissing sound in between song changes which you get sometimes with low quality amplifiers. The settings on the side of the amp is very easy to adjust with the led lights on the amp. I definitely recommend this amp as I will be purchasing one more for my daily driver car.

I own a Honda CR-Z which is a very small (and lightweight) hybrid vehicle, Well, that being said, the first time I took it on the freeway, cruising about 85 mph, the wind noise was unbelievably loud to the point that I had to crank up the volume on my factory car stereo pretty much to the max volume if I wanted to hear the music over the noise. I purchased the 2 door pack of Dynamat in hopes that it would quiet down the decibels at that speed enough that I didn't have to blast my stereo if was listening to music or have to yell if I was having a conversation with my passenger. Needless to say, this stuff is absolutely amazing!!! My car is now dead silent at all speeds as well as having a nice solid feeling door when getting in and out of the car. I purchased the small pack to cover two doors and the installation was a breeze on both front doors, covering the entire door and with the little bit I had left over, I put that behind the rear speakers. I also replaced the factory speakers when I installed the Dynamat b/c I figured why not, since I pretty much had to remove them anyways. Let me just say, the sound is freaking crazy!!! With just the speaker replacement done, it seems like that alone doubled the power of my factory stereo, but to make it right and have the correct amount of power going into all the speakers, I installed a couple of amplifiers to really push the speakers like they're designed to be. I'm hearing notes and nuances in the music that I never heard before, and I can blast my music and you can barely even tell It's loud if you were to be standing outside of the vehicle. Overall, installing this product has made one of the most profound differences in the quality/enjoyability of my car and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking to quiet down the interior of your car from either wind noise, engine noise or to boost the level of performance of your radio.

Motorola Vehicle Navigation Charger BIONIC

I don't have the gps/dvd upgrade in my truck for the audio system, so i didn't want to go out and buy an expensive head unit with android support and a lcd screen only to integrate my phone. I listen to a lot of pandora and audio book mp3's, and really needed a way to hook up my phone to the truck. Originally i was thinking about using some kind of bluetooth method but this turned out to be the best option. I have the phone mounted in the top center of the dash, and i kept the cable tightly wrapped, so the cable is neat, and runs straight down the side of the center dash to the EXT input and cigarette lighter. I also have the extre large sized battery and case on my phone, and this thing works great. I'm not going to lie.. the battery+case do make it a tad snug to fit into it, but you just have to squeeze it down and it''ll fit. If you drive over rough roads, it could jolt it out a little, you'll just need to squeeze the phone back down into place, and everything will be fine. But i now get to use pandora everyday, and having the phone in the center makes it easy to use the navigation and calling features. Overall this is a fantastic dock for my truck.
